The occultation of a star by asteroid 2000 AM59 - 10 November 2024
A bright star in a good position and a clear sky allowed for an observation with a short exposure time. This allowed for the recording of diffraction phenomena. Today I have observed the occultation of a star by asteroid 2000 AM59 with an estimated diameter of about 4.6 km.
The map with predicted path:Light curve from video record.
The begin of occultation was at 20:24:06.196 UTC +/- 0.004s; end at 20:24:06.737 UTC +/- 0.004s. Total duration is 0.541 +/- 0.005s.
