Filter modification of Canon 350D - 09 February 2008
I want to capture emission nebulas. All digital cameras have IR-cut filter in front of the CCD chip. But problem is in this filter. It is not suitable for capturing emission nebulas beacuse it cuts wanted light wave length. The solution is to exchange it.
I decided to remove original IR-cut filter and use new special filter (Baader DLSR-ACF Astro Conversion Filter No. 245 9212) for astronomical purpose. This meant to open camera's body and to do the exchange.I was very much afraid of destroying my camera. The whole operation takes me over four hours.
